Two daring actors who set out to make a set out of their planks and a play out of their enthusiasm chose Shakespeare's masterpiece, Hamlet, as their sacrifice.
They attempt this with great courage in front of the audience, but the performance soon turns into a desperate situation.
One is a half-assed actor who pretends to be a Shakespeare expert who apparently can't find the environment he wants for acting; the other is a bewildered man who constantly talks about musicals with his enthusiasm for singing...
While they dream of a Hamlet who is well-mannered, well-rounded, and just like their father, the resulting disgrace turns into "A Father Hamlet".
With Sebastian Seidel's original text that savors the funny, Yücel Erten's masterful translation, and Baba Sahne's fatherly interpretation, "Bir Baba Hamlet" also winks at the theater tradition of these lands, holding a mirror up to the dizzying beauty and stultifying magic of the love of theater making.
