Three brothers working in their father's mill enter the stage at different moments according to the music. There are sacks of white flour on the floor of the stage. First, one of them takes a sack and goes out, the other two brothers wave after him. Then the brother who comes out enters the stage with a purse of money in his hand, all three of them are very happy and hug each other. Then, the second brother takes the other sack and goes out. The two brothers who remain on the stage wait. The middle brother who leaves the stage also comes with a purse of gold in his hand, again the three brothers hug each other. Then the youngest brother (Hans, the main character, but it doesn't matter if it's a woman or a man) takes the other sack and leaves the stage. The others who remain on the stage wave after him. Then Hans enters the stage with a letter in his hand. As always, all three brothers first rejoice with very big gestures, hug each other, then realize they made a mistake and all three of them stop and stare at the letter in Hans' hand. Here, the wordless play with the letter can be extended or shortened. Each one can take the envelope one by one without opening it, look at it, examine it, hold it up to the light and try to see what's inside, etc. Then the music stops and the verbal play begins.
