SANDLAND (Antalya Sand Sculpture Museum) is among the largest sand sculpture events in the world, where hundreds of gigantic sand sculptures are exhibited, with features such as area width, number of participating artists and the amount of sand used.
Sand sculpture art is a special type of ephemeral (temporary) art that has become widespread in the world in recent years. Only water and sand are used in sand sculpture activities within the scope of alternative arts. Sand Sculptors carry out their work solo or in teams of 2-3 people, taking into account the dimensions of the sculpture. The result is magnificent works that weigh hundreds of tons and are meters long and high, using only water and sand. Sand Sculpture Art carries the philosophy that nothing is permanent and everything will disappear one day. For this reason, these unique works that amaze the viewers are completely destroyed after being exhibited for a short period of time.
The magnificent works created as a result of the 3-week performances of professional sand sculpture artists from many countries of the world, using 10 thousand tons of river sand in an area of approximately 7 thousand square meters in Antalya's world-famous Lara Beach Band, can be visited every day. The world's first and only Sand Sculpture Museum, which is open to visitors for 12 months, can be visited every day between 09.00-23.00 between 1 June and 1 November, and between 09.30-19.00 between 1 November and 1 June. The event, which has now become a tradition, has become one of the most important cultural and artistic events of Antalya and Turkey with its increasing interest and visitors every year. Featuring more than 150 sculptures, the event offers visitors an unforgettable experience day and night. This unique event, which reflects the most natural, most magnificent and most entertaining form of art, is organized with a different theme every year. In the exhibition, whose 2022 theme was determined as Space Adventure, legendary events and heroes were virtually revived with the magic of sand. The exhibition also hosts many interesting activities and events.
In the event area that appeals to everyone from 7 to 70, little visitors can participate in the workshop program using kinetic sand in the specially created Magic Sand Castle. In addition to a children's playground, ATV safari, water sports and similar activities are offered.
It takes on a fairytale-like atmosphere with the gigantic statues illuminated by the LED lighting system used for the first time in such an event in the world and the music broadcast within the framework of the theme. For those who are curious, a video showing the construction stages of the sculptures is shown on the giant LED screen.

It's a very nice museum. The kids and we both enjoyed it very much. Of course, we couldn't get as far in front of some statues, but it's normal. We are in a season with occasional rains. Therefore, there were a few muddy spots that were not suitable for walking. Even though we weren't far away, we couldn't get close to some of them for that reason. The statues are already visible, but we couldn't read the information signs. No problem. We have studied many of them closely. A wooden platform has already been built so that we can pass a certain part of it without getting into the mud. The music playing in the environment, the resting cafe area and the employees were fine. When the concept changes, we want to go again and see it at different times. Having an open air museum was also enjoyable. The sitting area benches are very cute. It is also nice to have a separate playground for children. While sitting and drinking coffee, children can continue to have fun. Prices are also very reasonable in the section where the cafe is located. The first thing we liked the most was that ATATÜRK was the first huge statue on the left when we entered the door. We were very happy and emotional.
